Definitions

  • Obituary Notice includes
    • Type - you can either a tribute or an obituary. For people trying to post funeral information in real time use the obituary and for people trying to setup a tribute use the tribute radio button.
    • Name, deceased picture, demographics and the biography.
    • Heading is how you want to decribe this person.
    • Demographics
      • Are to inform people that this person belongs to certain organizations or professions.
    • Viewing information is for viewing times at the funeral home.
    • Funeral date and time is also available for people to attent the funeral.
    • Famous and Heroism
      • If the person is know regionally just fill out the famous category.
      • If the person is famous on an international scale check the box.
    • Most of the information including the demograpics are used in our matching feature to notify people (what this site referes to as noticees) that want to be informed that this person has passed.
      • First, last middle and nick names are supplied.
      • Two addresses are supplied the most recent address is the curent address of the deceased and the address growing up is to inform people where about that person grew up.
  • Matching feature
    • It goes beyond putting the obituary notice in the news paper. The feature informs people around the world that people have passed, so you don't have to read the newspaper to be informed.
    • People sign up (Noticee's) and enter people that they want to track in their address book. Our matching feature takes those entries from their address book's and matches the demographics with the obituaries that the funeral homes enter. When there is a match the Noticee gets an email stating that someone died and where they can view this person. This is enhanced exposure for the funeral home and a service to inform people who want to maintain an address book.
    • Search engines rank you based on how many hits you get but also on how accurate the search is, ie city, state, county zip code. So you really want to place as many obituary notices as you can.
  • Slide Show
    • The Deceased Representatives can put together a slide show to show at the viewing and online.
      • The funeral home needs to have a computer monitor in the viewing room that has internet access.
      • The pictures are uploaded, a title is placed on each picture and put into order.
      • Just double click the first picture and the picture fills the screen with a slide show.
